Midland County Livestock Show
The Midland County Livestock Association Show is a long-standing community tradition celebrating agriculture, youth achievement, and hard work. Held each January, this multi-day event brings together local youth, families, educators, and supporters to showcase the dedication behind Midland County’s livestock and agricultural programs.
What to Expect
Throughout the week, exhibitors participate in a series of livestock shows and educational activities that highlight responsibility, skill, and commitment. Typical events include:
🐂 Livestock Exhibitions & Judging
Featuring animals raised and cared for by local youth, often including cattle, sheep, goats, swine, and other livestock.🌾 Youth Participation
Exhibitors commonly represent programs such as 4-H and FFA, gaining hands-on experience in animal care, showmanship, and agricultural leadership.🏅 Showmanship & Awards
Judges evaluate animals and exhibitors on presentation, care, and quality, with awards presented throughout the week.🤝 Community & Family Friendly Atmosphere
The show is open to the public and offers a chance for the community to support local youth while learning more about agriculture in the Permian Basin.🐖 Livestock Auction (Typically Near the End of the Week)
A highlight of the event where buyers support youth exhibitors by purchasing animals, helping fund future agricultural projects and education.
Why It Matters
The Midland County Livestock Association Show isn’t just about competition — it’s about education, character building, and community support. Exhibitors gain real-world skills in responsibility, time management, and stewardship, while the broader community plays a vital role in encouraging the next generation of agricultural leaders.
